The math teacher in middle institute told me to sit still and be quiet. Can't she papal court that I am so excited about math that I want to do more? I don't want to sit still. I want to explore the world of math and figure things disclosed In high school, the guidance counselor intimateed a vocational education instead of a society degree. Is college not an option for me? I want to walk to college. I want to become a doctor. Imagine the teacher in the class. Imagine the learner in the class. Is there a missing link? Ye the missing link is you, the African-American teacher. in the same manner often teachers of other races and agricultures instruct our African-American youth over their school careers. With the circulating trend in demographics and the increased number of minority close examiners in our schools, it is imperative that scholars have role models that expect like them. It is also important that learners have teachers with similar cultural experiences. It is important that African-American observers receive equal educational opportunities and are encouraged to reach their fullest potential. As a race, we cannot afford to allow our learners anything other than the best educational experience possible. You, the prospective African-American teacher, are requireed in classrooms everywhere. Why should African-American learners in college choose teaching? In our society, education for minority children is increasingly more important and necessary than always before. A good solid education will prepare our youth to contend in society. Teachers are urgencyed who can motivate and educate minority scholars to meet the challenges of competing for fair housing, fair education, and fair do job-work opportunities that still exist in America. Teaching is a commitment to lifelong learning and rewards. Children who have no brains of worth, or who constantly experience failure, do not await forward to attending school nor will they gain academic succes Teachers that understand and relate to the African-American improvement can impel students to reach beyond their potential in preparation for adulthood and the challenges of a global society. Teachers have a great influence in succession students and can make a difference. When the best and the brightest dog a career in education, the missing link will become the connecting chain. The latest research according to the National Commission forward Teaching and America's Future indicates American sects will need two million teachers in the nearest decade. There is a potent need for male and female African-American teachers in each facet of education from classroom teachers to building administrators to district superintendents. Teachers are penuryed who are able to favorably work the diversity of America's observer population. Computer teachers, life science and physical science teachers are showing increased shortages. Are you a candidate for teaching? Do you have a penetrating interest in a specific field of education? Do you have sexual delight with working with children? Do you posses leadership qualities? Are you creative? Are you patient and warm? Do you have a perception of humor? Are you exceptionally skilled in a certain enthrall or a multitude of subjects? Are you a team player and, chiefly of all, do you have the ability to effectively communicate with all kinds of people? Are you willing to make a difference? Are you the missing link? If you can answer yes to these questions, you are the missing link.
