We have a great deal more to do in developing the character of the principal as an instructional leader. Fifteen years ago, a principal's work at jobs description contained little serious concern to instructional leadership, and it was a fortunate academy that got a leader who was more than a beneficial manager and disciplinarian. Now the masterships ahve been changed in midstream, and there is often professional development and growth extremityed It does take tremendous skill and majestic time management to go beyond ghe myriad details of running a seminary and also be a curriculum leader and an active and effective supervisor of the teaching/learning proces We are challenging and supporting our principals in this first note of the scale area.

We are in the midst of the proces of trying of establish "bottom up" place of education planning and intiative in all drills not just our school-based management, place of education improvement, and Compact schools. a great deal of our work has been "top down," and that was a necessary stage; still now there must be frequently more work at the grass lower parts level, helped and supported on the central office. The latest reviews of the indoctrinate effectiveness literature indicate that near factors which contribute to serviceable schools can only develop wit]in the individual institute such as collaborative planning and collegial relationships; a intellect of community; clear goals and high expectations commonly shared; and order and discipline. Getting this kind of program planning and climate increase in all our schools is a high priority for the nearest several years.
