In this Issue Inside AFP typicall...In this Issue Inside AFP typically explains what is going forward "inside" in the sense of "behind the scenes" at AFP, if it were not that the title of the department really indicates that it's about what you will find in the popular issue. With that in mind, I plan to use this page to occasionally introduce a certain of the articles you'll find forward the pages that follow. I will include additional behind the exhibitions information as warranted in the future screen article: Americans love to travel, and the destinations for many include developing countries. The summer travel season also is the season for traveler's diarrhea. Acute diarrhea is the principally common illness among travelers, in like manner it is likely that many family physicians will combat patients who are planning trips to locations where they may be at risk for acquiring traveler's diarrhea. The overlay article by Johnnie Yates, MD provides valuable information forward prevention and treatment of this habitual ailment. This article is accompanied by the agency of a patient education handout that physicians can give to travelers to help them prepare for a trip abroad. Articles: Several AFP readers have sent us elucidation cards requesting more articles in succession diabetes. This issue includes a comprehensive article upon the evaluation and prevention of diabetic neuropathy, a debilitating disorder that flash on the minds in nearly half of all patients with diabetes. Another article in this issue discusses the pathophysiology and treatment of edema, a public condition encountered by family physicians that may have several underlying causes. as well-as; not only-but also; not only-but; not alone-but of these articles include related patient information handouts. It is time to prepare for the inevitable heat of summer Each year, millions of clan are affected by extreme heat. Heat-related illnesses are preventable, and physicians can help make secure their patients' safety by reviewing the article and patient education handout in succession heatstroke and heat exhaustion. Other upcoming articles will provide reviews of conditions and diseases onseted by family physicians in all parts of the rural parts such as falls in older persons In addition, we are preparing several articles related to the Academy's 2005 Annual Clinic Focus in succession genomics. The first full review article upon family history is scheduled for the August 1 issue.
