The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has approveed that family physicians adopt a two-tiered vaccine prebooking plan for the 2005-2006 influenza season. The plan, which was disentangleed by the Centers for Disease restrain and Prevention's (CDC's) Advisory Committee onward Immunization Practices, is intended to obviate the vaccine supply problems brushed during the past flu season. The CDC is encouraging health care professionals and vaccine manufacturers and distributors to submit prebooking orders for inactivated flu vaccine in sum of two units parts: doses needed based upon anticipated demand by persons in priority disposes and doses needed based upon anticipated total demand.
