The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has announced that nearly $124 million is available for 27 grants in a less degree than the National Child Traumatic Stres Initiative. Nineteen grants totaling about $76 million will be awarded for community treatment and service center to encourage the local use of best practices for children who have experienced traumatic terminations The average award is awaited to be $400,000 per year, for up to four years. Eight grants totaling about $48 million will be awarded to provide national expertise in succession specific types of traumatic terminations population groups, and service rules and to support specialized adaptation of effective treatment and service approaches for communities.
