The U aliment and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a public health advisory announcing a plan for alerting the public about the increased risk of suicidal musings and behavior in children and adolescents being treated with antidepressant medications. The agency is directing manufacturers to add a black case warning to the health professional labeling of all antidepressants describing the risk and emphasizing the ne for obstruct monitoring of young patients starting treatment. The FDA is in the proces of developing a medication guide to advise patients of the risks and what precautions can be taken. formerly the guides are available, manufacturers are encouraged to distribute them to pharmacists to pass along to patients.
