AFP's of Family editors will be standing by the agency of to meet with you at the upcoming Annual Scientific Assembly of the American Academy Physicians (AAFP). This year's assembly, which will be held in conjunction with the 17th World interview of Family Doctors, is scheduled for October 13-17 in Orlando, Fla. If you don't attend the meeting regularly, you might consider going this year because of the unique opportunities propounded by the intersection of these sum of two units meetings. Family physicians from all above the world will be gathering to share ideas, earn CME and help shape the futurity of this far-reaching specialty of medicine. A apportionment will be happening at the meeting, further we would appreciate it if you would take just a minute to visit with us at the AFP booth in the exhibit hall.

At the booth we will be asking readers to fill not at home a short survey that will give leave to us know if we're still in succession track serving your needs. We've freshly introduced some new series in the journal, including "STEPS" which are short reviews of recent drugs covering safety, tolerability, efficacy, price, and simplicity; "Clinical Inquiries," which furnish evidence-based answers to common clinical questions; "POEMs" which propose abstracts of studies offering patient-oriented evidence that matters; and "Point-of-Care Guides," which present evidence-based tools to use in practice. We've added short summaries to "Cochrane for Clinicians" and merg "Clinical Briefs" with "Practice Guidelines." We also have started labeling solution recommendations in clinical review articles using the novel SOR taxonomy introduced in the February 1 2004 issue. forward top of those changes, we've introduced a just discovered look for the journal, starting with the July 1 2004 issue. This would be a great time for you to stop at and let us know for what reason we're doing.



AFP's editor, Jay Siwek, MD and Barry Weiss, MD editor of Family Medicine, will be presenting a workshop for recent authors at the annual AAFP assembly. Dr Siwek and Weiss will help authors determine the basic gradations in writing and preparation of the manuscript, understand what happens to the manuscript after it is received in the editorial office, and suit effectively to comments from editors and reviewers. The workshop focuses forward clinical review and research articles, and it is aimed at novice and experienced authors. For authors wanting to publish clinical reviews in AFP, we exhibit instructions online in the Authors Guide at http://www.aafp.org/afp.

Other medical editors of AFP are active at assembly and will be presenting CME sessions, including Dr Barbara Apgar, who will discuss issues in women's health, and Dr Richard Sadovsky, who will existing sessions on urinalysis and erectile dysfunction. Many other presenter at the assembly--too many to name--have been regular contributors to AFP, and we room for expectation to see many of them, and you, at assembly.
