The U Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the final report from the U viands and Drug Administration's (FDA) counterfeit mix with drugs task force. The information was compiled after meetings with security apts federal and state law enforcement officials, technology developer manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, consumer clusters and the general public. The report lists specific grades the agency is taking to protected the national drug supply. Part of the plan includes a counterfeit medicine alert network of national organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), that will provide their members with up-to-date information about counterfeit physic incidents. Other steps listed in the report include securing the physic product and packaging, securing distribution of the harvest enhancing regulatory oversight and enforcement, increasing penalties for counterfeiters, heightening public awareness of counterfeit remedys and increasing international collaboration.
