The American Medical Association (AMA) has released a strange guide to help physicians identify and treat obesity in their adult patients. "Assessment and Management of Adult Obesity: A Primer for Physicians" is available independent of charge at http://www.ama-assn. org/ama/pub/category/10931.html. The guide put forwards practical advice on evaluating patients for generally received and potential health risks related to weight, beginning with a corpse mass index measurement; recommendations for weight management by the and of healthy eating and physical activity; information forward surgical and pharmacotherapeutic options; suggestions for improving communication and counseling; and tips for making the office environment friendlier to overweight and obese patients.
