Washington, DC -- Preliminary ensues of the National Association of Counties' take a view of of elected county officials indicate that greatest in quantity are male first-termers.

The take a view of of the country's 394 selected county executives covered topics ranging from salary to terminus limits to election procedures and extent of service.

Of the respondent 95 percent of whom are male, most numerous have served for four years or fewer. Seventeen percent have been in office for les than united year, and 35 percent have serv for single in kind to four years.

Just 12 percent have been in office for more than 12 years.

Forty-five percent had held public office prior to their election as shire executive -- 33 percent had held shire office and 12 percent municipal office. Forty-one percent however, had not at all held elected office before running for the shire executive's spot.
