The U Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) National Diabetes Education Program lately launched a public awareness campaign to help Hispanics find on the outside if they are at risk of diabetes and to assist ways to delay or impede the onset of type 2 diabetes from one side lifestyle modifications. The campaign, "Prevengamos la Diabetes tipo 2: Paso a Paso (We Can hinder Type 2 Diabetes: Step from Step)," was developed in answer to the results of the Diabetes Prevention Program clinical trial that demonstrated that ones could reduce their diabetes risk through more than one half through losing a modest amount of weight, getting 30 minutes of physical activity five days by week, and eating healthier. constitutings of the campaign include fact sheets upon diabetes; diabetes patient education materials; a recipe and meal planner booklet; and print, radio, and television public service announcements. "With 'Paso a Paso,' we want to share the profitable news that Hispanics can debar diabetes, and it doesn't take a starvation diet to do it," said HH Secretary Tommy G Thompson "The tonic is regular physical activity and a little weight los I want to encourage family to take this message of suitable health to their families and their communities."
