The Congres of Delegates of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) chooseed new officers and board members at the 2003 AAFP Scientific Assembly in strange Orleans. Mary E. Frank, MD Mill Valley, Calif., was chosen the AAFP's president-elect. Three recently made known AAFP directors were selected: James King, MD Selmer Tenn; Thomas Kintanar, MD Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Timothy Komoto, MD Mendota Heights, Minn. The strange physician board member is Lisa Corum, MD asylum Hill, S.C. The new resident board member is Saria Carter, MD Davie, Fla. The just discovered student board member is Eddie J gymnast Nashville, Tenn. Carolyn Lopez, MD Chicago, is speaker, and Thomas Weida, MD Hershey, Pa., is vice speaker. The delegates also picked three finalists as candidates for the AAFP position onward the board of directors of the American Board of Family Practice (ABFP): Ros Black II, MD Cleveland; Richard Hays, MD Lake Worth, Fla.; and Tanya Jone MD Atlanta. The ABFP board will choose one of the three candidates in spring 2004 to benefit on the board for five years. Also at the Assembly, Michael O Fleming, MD Shreveport, La., was installed as president of AAFP for the upcoming year, and outgoing president, James C Martin, MD San Antonio, became board chair.
