The Pediatric Advanced Life Support...

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support Task Force of the International Liaison Committee upon Resuscitation has updated its advisory statement in succession use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for children. "An Advisory Statement from the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Task Force" appears in the July 2003 issues of Pediatrics, Circulation, and Resuscitation, and is available online at www circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/ 107/25/3250

According to the recommendations, newer designs of AEDs can be used for children single in kind to eight years of age who have no signs of circulation. Previously, health care professionals who treated children before admission to a hospital were told that AEDs should not be used forward children eight years or younger because the older AEDs delivered adult doses of zeal and were designed to read adult heart numbers only. Newer AEDs can correctly analyze heart numbers in children and deliver smaller shocks

Conditions requiring defibrillation in children are rare, nevertheless include commotio cordis, a life-threatening condition caused according to a ball or other existence striking the chest.



The statement praises first giving one minute of standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation to children undivided to eight years of age to papal court if that revives them. The Task Force also attract favor tos that the newer AEDs be made available in public places, as it is as schools and airports.
