President Clinton and first note of the scale congressional Republicans are on the same commonness when it comes to advocating additional radio image for local police, fire and urgency rescue operations. Both the president's fiscal 1998 set and Senator John McCain's novel “Law Enforcement and Public Safety Telecommunications Empowerment Act” advocate taking 24 Megahertz (MHz) of representation that is now being used by the agency of UHF television channels 60-69 and turning it throughout to public safety agencies in cities and counties.

“We are absolutely thrilled,” says Mark Schwartz, the Oklahoma City councilmember who helps as president of the National League of Cities. Schwartz says1 he remembers the difficulty his city police and juncture rescue teams had communicating via radio with federal and state deliverance workers in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing.

“We couldn't communicate until Southwestern Bell and Cellular common gave us priority calling phones” he says.
